“Mummy, I’m bored!” Even in a paradise like Ibiza, there are days when the clouds gather, the sun goes in and the little ones – so content to play in the sand the day before – complain there’s nothing to do. Fortunately, the island is well equipped with children’s playgrounds and centres, indoor and out, where the kids can while away a few hours having fun, burning off all that pent-up energy, making new friends and even holding a birthday party they’ll never forget. In this guide, of course, we can’t cover all of them, but we can give you an overview of kids’ amenities in Ibiza and pick out some of its top facilities.

Read our guide below to find out where they are and what facilities they offer.

Ibiza Town, the island’s capital city and a proud partner of Unicef’s Child Friendly Cities Initiative, has no less than 29 such parks. Its Town Council has even made a map of them.

Located on Paseo Juan Carlos I, in the Marina Botafoch area, in front of the club Keeper, there is a children’s park that has been recently modernised. It has a fenced zone where infants can walk around in complete safety and a whole range of slides, walkways, and ladders. What’s more, it offers great views of the Old Town.

Close by, on Avenida 8 de Agosto, there are two parks that are situated very near to one another.

If you are downtown then three play centres stand out. The first, right in the centre of town, backing onto the walls of the Old Town, is in Plaza del Parque. You can’t miss it thanks to its distinctive shape in the form of a lizard (locals refer to it as Parque Sargantana - Catalan for lizard). With its hollow climbing wall where you go up a rope ladder and come down by a little slide, this is one that kids love!

The second is sited in Parque de la Paz, just behind the New Market and close to the post office. Surrounded by green zones, it possesses various play areas and a bio-healthy park alongside.

Sandwiched between Ibiza Town and the resort of Playa d’en Bossa, Figueretas is home to no less than four outdoor children’s parks. Renovated in 2019 and one of the biggest in the municipality, is the one on Avenida de Sant Jordi. There’s another on Avenida de Pere Matutes Noguera. Finally, there are two more right on the Paseo de ses Pitiüses, bordering the beach. The first is at the end of the promenade and the second in Plaza de Julià Verdera.

One of the island’s largest kids’ amusement parks is Parc de s’Illa, located in the neighbourhood of Can Misses, beside the Multicines complex. Measuring no less than 3,500 m2, this park is unusual in that 400 children from local schools played an active role in its design. It has a bicycle circuit, a rock-climbing zone, zip lines and a rest area, all conceived to reflect aspects of the island.

For a fantastic little inside play area with super attentive staff, check out DOFÍ PARK, located at Carrer de Xarraca, 13, near the school behind the National Police Station on the E-10 inner ring road. A small fee is charged for this park, which accepts children up to 8 years old.

Lastly, if you are in the resort of Playa d’en Bossa, then El Gran Piruleto Park – found at Calle Begonies 31, Playa d’en Bossa - is the most convenient. Its facilities include inside and outside play areas, a baby park, all manner of games and sports, a chill-out zone, and covered terraces. To cap it off, there is a café and a restaurant offering full menus and easy parking. An entrance fee is charged.

Santa Eulalia has its fair share of children’s play parks. The biggest – known locally as Es Fameliar (a Catalan term for a benign imp)  - is located close to The Mercadona supermarket on the road parallel to the Santa Eulalia - Es Cana Road, in the neighbourhood of Can Sanso. With lots of play activities, a skating zone, and areas for snacking, not to mention a swing for children with reduced mobility, this is bound to be a hit with the youngsters.

If you are in the area of the marina, Parque Infantil Santa Eulalia is worth checking out.

Finally, for kids seeking a higher level of adventure in the open air, the highly popular, privately run Acrobosc features three zip line circuits: easy, medium, and difficult. It is located in the shady environs of a pine tree forest at Avenida de s’Argamassa 77, near the resort of Cala Pada. An entrance fee is charged.

The popular resort of San Antonio has its fair share of playgrounds.

Right on the main promenade, where the fountains are, the Children's Play Area has some fun activities and plenty of shaded areas. Meanwhile, in the bustling Bay area, there are several good choices.

The first is located on the upper bay road, Avenida San Agustí. Particularly suited to older kids, it features a mini zip line and a skating park.

Parc infantil de sa Punta des Molí, (Carrer de s'Embarcador, 4) is an attractive park located right beside the promenade, in front of the Alua Hawaii hotel. With soft terrain, shaded areas, and a mini basketball court next door, this one is ideal for both infants and older children.

The privately run iParc, in Calle Burgos, Carrer de Cala de Bou, 14, is a fun play park for children with a plastic ball pit, inflatables, and yummy homemade food. An entrance fee is charged.

Around the island, each village has its own kids’ playground, usually located in the vicinity of the parish church. Good examples can be found in the following villages: San Juan, San Rafael, San Carlos, San Lorenzo, and Santa Gertrudis.

There is one on the beach at Cala Llonga, and San José has one beside its school, on the outskirts of the town heading towards Ibiza Town. Keep driving along that road and - at around km4 - you will come to the well-known grill restaurant, Cas Costas, which has its own play area for the little ones.

Lastly, should you need high-quality baby and child equipment while you're on the island, Peekaboo provides playpens, strollers, highchairs and toys galore for rent anywhere on Ibiza.
